The Nora Fischer Fund

Nora Fischer was a dear member of the Seattle Knitters Guild who passed away in July 2002.

The Guild collected a memorial fund, and Nora’s sister Marilyn (who is also a Guild member) would like this fund to go towards educating children.

The board decided that the fund would be best administered as a grant for people who teach children to knit through schools, youth groups, or other non-profit organizations.

These monies will be designated to applicants in $50 grants until the fund is exhausted.

To apply for a $50. grant, please submit the information below using our Contact Form.

APPLICATION INFORMATION:

  • Name of school, organization or individual overseeing/responsible for the group
  • Applicant’s name and role in knitting group (instructor, supporter, coordinator, etc)
  • General Information about the knitting group: name of the club (if it has one), number of kids, ages, etc. in the knitting group
  • Address of where to mail the check
  • Name of whom to make the check out to

If possible we would love to see photos of projects the kids are working on. It gives the Guild a chance to enjoy the positive results of their support through this scholarship.
